Singing strengthens the immune system
2020-02-24

According to research conducted by the University of Frankfurt, singing can boost the immune system. The study compared the blood level of choir members before and after singing Mozart's Requiem. Researchers found that the number of antibodies (Immunoglobulin A) in the immune system increases significantly after singing.

In addition, the British Cancer Care Centre (Tenovus Cancer Care) and the Royal College of Music have collaborated to find that singing can improve immunity. The subjects were 193 patients with cancer. It is found that after they practiced for 1 hour, stress hormones (such as cortisol) in the body were significantly reduced, and the number of immune cytokines increased to improve body resistance.
